Finnur Árnason dvaldist litla hríð á Eggju með Kálfi því að hann kunni stórilla því er Kálfur hafði verið í bardaga í móti Ólafi konungi. Veitti Finnur Kálfi jafnan harðar átölur af þeim sökum.

Þorbergur Árnason var miklu betur orðstilltur en Finnur en þó fýstist Þorbergur í brott að fara og heim til bús síns. Fékk Kálfur þeim bræðrum sínum langskip gott með öllum reiða og öðrum búnaði og gott föruneyti. Fóru þeir heim til búa sinna.

Árni Árnason lá lengi í sárum og varð heill og örkumlalaus. Fór hann síðan um veturinn suður til bús síns.

Tóku þeir allir bræður sér grið af Sveini konungi og settust þeir heima allir bræður um kyrrt.
