Einar þambarskelfir var kominn heim vestan af Englandi til
búa sinna og hafði veislur þær sem Knútur konungur hafði
fengið honum þá er þeir fundust í Þrándheimi og var það nær
jarlsríki.
Einar þambarskelfir hafði ekki verið í mótgöngu við Ólaf
konung. Hrósaði hann því sjálfur. Einar minntist þess er
Knútur hafði heitið honum jarldómi yfir Noregi og svo það að
konungur efndi ekki heit sín. Einar varð fyrstur til þess
ríkismanna að halda upp helgi Ólafs konungs.
