Vetur þann hófst umræða sú af mörgum mönnum þar í Þrándheimi að Ólafur konungur væri maður sannheilagur og jartegnir margar yrðu að helgi hans. Hófu þá margir áheit til Ólafs konungs um þá hluti er mönnum þótti máli skipta. Fengu margir menn af þeim áheitum bót, sumir heilsubætur en sumir fararbeina eða aðra þá hluti er nauðsyn þótti til bera.
