Ólafur konungur byrjar ferð sína, fór fyrst upp um Smálönd og
kom fram í Vestra-Gautland, fór spaklega og friðsamlega en
landsmenn veittu þeim góðan forbeina. Fór konungur til þess
er hann kom ofan í Víkina og svo norður eftir Víkinni til
þess er hann kom í Sarpsborg. Dvaldist hann þá þar og lét þá
þar búa til vetursetu. Gaf konungur þá heimleyfi mestum hluta
liðsins en hafði með sér það af lendum mönnum er honum
sýndist. Þar voru með honum allir synir Árna Armóðssonar.
Voru þeir mest virðir af konungi.
Þá kom til Ólafs konungs Gellir Þorkelsson og hafði komið
áður um sumarið af Íslandi svo sem fyrr var ritið.
