Það sumar er Þórarinn fór með Hrærek til Íslands þá fór Hjalti Skeggjason og til Íslands og leiddi Ólafur konungur hann í brott með vingjöfum er þeir skildust.

Það sumar fór Eyvindur úrarhorn í vesturvíking og kom um haustið til Írlands til Konofogor Írakonungs. Þeir hittust um haustið í Úlfreksfirði Írakonungur og Einar jarl úr Orkneyjum og varð þar orusta mikil. Hafði Konofogor konungur lið miklu meira og fékk sigur en Einar jarl flýði einskipa og kom svo um haustið aftur til Orkneyja að hann hafði látið flest allt lið og herfang allt það er þeir höfðu fengið. Og undi jarl stórilla ferð sinni og kenndi ósigur sinn Norðmönnum þeim er verið höfðu í orustu með Írakonungi.
