Nú er konungur hafði þetta mælt þá sest hann niður og lét draga af sér skóklæði og setti á fætur sér kordúnahosur og batt með gylltum sporum. Þá tók hann af sér kápuna og kyrtilinn og klæddi sig með pellsklæðum og yst skarlatskápu, gyrti sig með sverði búnu, setur gylltan hjálm á höfuð sér, stígur þá á hest sinn. Hann gerði verkmenn í byggðina og tók sér þrjá tigu manna vel búna er riðu heim með honum.

En er þeir riðu upp í garðinn fyrir stofuna þá sá hann öðrum megin í garðinum hvar brunaði fram merki Ólafs konungs og þar hann sjálfur með og hundrað manna með honum og allir vel búnir. Þá var og skipað mönnum allt milli húsanna. Fagnaði Sigurður konungur af hesti Ólafi konungi stjúpsyni sínum og liði hans og bauð honum inn til drykkju með sér en Ásta gekk til og kyssti son sinn og bauð honum með sér að dveljast og allt heimult, lönd og lið, er hún mætti veita honum.

Ólafur konungur þakkaði henni vel orð sín. Hún tók í hönd honum og leiddi hann eftir sér í stofuna og til hásætis. Sigurður konungur fékk menn til að varðveita klæðnað þeirra og gefa korn hestum þeirra en hann gekk til hásætis síns. Og var sú veisla ger með hinu mesta kappi.
