Eiríkur kom á England til fundar við Knút konung og var með
honum þá er hann vann Lundúnaborg. Eiríkur jarl barðist fyrir
vestan Lundúnaborg. Þar felldi hann Úlfkel snilling.
Svo segir Þórður:
Gullkennir lét gunni
græðis hests, fyr vestan,
Þundr vó leyfðr til landa,
Lundún, saman bundið.
Fékk, regn Þorins rekka
rann, of þingamönnum,
ýgleg högg þar er eggjar,
Ulfkell, blár skulfu.
Eiríkur jarl var á Englandi einn vetur og átti nokkurar
orustur. En annað haust eftir ætlaði hann til Rúmferðar. Þá
andaðist hann af blóðláti þar á Englandi.
