Það var eitt sinn að Sigurður konungur vildi ríða af bæ, þá
var engi maður heima á bænum. Hann kvaddi Ólaf stjúpson sinn
að söðla sér hest. Ólafur gekk til geitahúss, tók þar bukk
þann er mestur var og leiddi heim og lagði á söðul konungs,
gekk þá og segir honum að þá hafði hann búið honum
reiðskjóta.
Þá gekk Sigurður konungur til og sá hvað Ólafur hafði gert.
Hann mælti: "Auðsætt er að þú munt vilja af höndum ráða kvaðningar mínar. Mun móður þinni það þykja sæmilegt að eg hafi engar kvaðningar við þig, þær er þér séu í móti skapi. Er það auðsætt að við munum ekki vera skaplíkir. Muntu vera miklu skapstærri en eg em."
Ólafur svarar fá og hló við og gekk í brott.
