Ólafur sonur Haralds hins grenska fæddist upp með Sigurði sýr stjúpföður sínum og Ástu móður sinni. Hrani hinn víðförli var með Ástu. Hann veitti fóstur Ólafi Haraldssyni.

Ólafur var snemma gervilegur maður, fríður sýnum, meðalmaður á vöxt. Vitur var hann og snemma og orðsnjallur.

Sigurður sýr var búsýslumaður mikill og hafði menn sína mjög í starfi og hann sjálfur fór oftlega að sjá um akra og eng eða fénað og enn til smíða eða þar er menn störfuðu eitthvað.
