The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Magnús konungur réð þá bæði fyrir Danmörk og Noregi. En eftir
það er hann hafði eignast Danaveldi þá gerði hann sendimenn
vestur til Englands. Fóru þeir á fund Játvarðar konungs og
fluttu honum bréf og innsigli Magnúss konungs.

En það stóð á bréfum með kveðjusending Magnúss konungs:

Þér munuð spurt hafa einkamál þau er vér Hörða-Knútur gerðum
með oss að hvor okkar sem lifði eftir annan sonlaus þá skyldi
sá taka lönd og þegna, þau er hinn hafði átt. Nú er það svo
orðið, sem eg veit að þér hafið spurt, að eg hefi tekið allt
Danaveldi í arf eftir Hörða-Knút. Hann átti þá er hann
andaðist engum mun síður England en Danmörk. Köllumst eg nú
eiga England eftir réttum máldögum. Vil eg að þú gefir upp
ríki fyrir mér en að öðrum kosti mun eg sækja til með styrk
hers bæði af Danaveldi og Noregi. Mun þá sá ráða löndum er
sigurs verður auðið.
