Magnús konungur lét gera skrín og búa gulli og silfri og
setja steinum. En skrín það var svo gert bæði að mikilleik og
að öðrum vexti sem líkkista en svalir undir niðri en yfir
uppi vétt vaxið sem ræfur og þar af upp höfuð og burst. Eru á
véttinu lamar á bak en hespur fyrir og þar læst með lukli.
Síðan lét Magnús konungur leggja í skrín það helgan dóm Ólafs
konungs. Urðu þar margar jartegnir að helgum dómi Ólafs
konungs.

Þess getur Sighvatur skáld:

Gert er, þeim er gott bar hjarta,

gullið skrín að mínum,

hrósa eg helgi ræsis,

hann sótti guð, dróttni.

Ár gengr margr frá mæru

meiðr þess konungs leiði

hreins með heilar sjónir

hrings, er blindr kom þingað.

Þá var það í lög tekið um allan Noreg að halda heilagt hátíð
Ólafs konungs. Var þá sá dagur þegar þar svo haldinn sem
hinar æðstu hátíðir.

Þess getur Sighvatur skáld:

Oss dugir Ólafs messu,

jöfur magnar guð, fagna

meinalaust í mínu,

Magnúss föður, húsi.

Skyldr em eg skilfings halda

skolllaust, þess er bjó golli,

helgi, handar tjálgur,

harmdauða, mér rauðu.
