The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Sveinn er maður nefndur sonur Haralds flettis, danskur maður
að kyni. Hann var hinn mesti víkingur og mikill bardagamaður
og hinn hraustasti, ættstór maður í sínu landi. Hann hafði
verið með Hákoni konungi. En eftir fráfall Hákonar trúði
Steigar-Þórir illa því að hann mundi komast í sætt eða í
vináttu við Magnús konung, ef ríki hans gengi yfir land,
fyrir sakir tilverka og mótgöngu þeirrar er Þórir hafði áður
haft við Magnús konung.

Síðan höfðu þeir Þórir og Sveinn ráð það er síðan varð
framkvæmt að þeir reistu flokk við styrk og fjölmenni Þóris.
En fyrir því að Þórir var þá gamall maður og þungfær þá tók
Sveinn við stjórn flokksins og höfðingjanafni.

Að þessu ráði hurfu fleiri höfðingjar. Þeirra var æðstur
Egill sonur Ásláks af Forlandi. Egill var lendur maður. Hann
átti Ingibjörgu dóttur Ögmundar Þorbergssonar, systur Skofta
í Giska. Skjálgur hét maður, ríkur og auðigur, er enn kom til
flokksins.

Þess getur Þorkell hamarskáld í Magnússdrápu:

Vítt dró sínar sveitir

saman stórhugaðr Þórir,

heldr vorut þau höldum

hagleg ráð, með Agli.

Snörp frá eg á því, er urpu,

endr Skjálgs vinum, lendir

menn við morðhauks brynni,

mein, um afl sér steini.

Þeir Þórir hófu flokkinn á Upplöndum og komu ofan í Raumsdal
og Sunn-Mæri og öfluðu sér þar skipa, héldu síðan norður til
Þrándheims.
