The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Magnús sonur Ólafs konungs var þegar til konungs tekinn í
Víkinni eftir andlát Ólafs konungs yfir allan Noreg.

En er Upplendingar spurðu andlát Ólafs konungs þá tóku þeir
til konungs Hákon Þórisfóstra, bræðrung Magnúss. Síðan fóru
þeir Hákon og Þórir norður til Þrándheims. En er þeir komu
til Niðaróss þá stefndu þeir Eyraþing og á því þingi beiðir
Hákon sér konungsnafns og var honum það veitt, að bændur tóku
hann til konungs yfir hálft land svo sem haft hafði Magnús
konungur faðir hans. Hákon tók af við Þrændi landauragjald og
gaf þeim margar aðrar réttarbætur. Hann tók af og við þá
jólagjafir. Snerust þá og allir Þrændir til vináttu við Hákon
konung. Þá tók Hákon konungur sér hirð, fór síðan aftur til
Upplanda. Hann veitti Upplendingum réttarbætur allar slíkar
sem Þrændum. Voru þeir og fullkomnir vinir hans.

Þá var þetta kveðið í Þrándheimi:

Ungr kom Hákon hingað,

hann er bestr alinn manna,

frægðar mildr, á foldu,

fór með Steigar-Þóri.

Syni Ólafs bauð síðan

sjálfr um Noreg hálfan

mildr, en Magnús vildi

málsnjallr hafa allan.
