Eysteinn var þar síðan til konungs tekinn og gekk allt fólk undir hann. Hann dvaldist um hríð í býnum, fór síðan inn í Þrándheim. Þar kom mart lið til hans. Þar kom til hans Þorfinnur svarti af Snös og hafði sveit manna. Öndverðan vetur fóru þeir út til býjar. Þá komu til þeirra synir Guðrúnar af Saltnesi, Jón kettlingur, Sigurður og Vilhjálmur. Þeir fóru upp úr Niðarósi til Orkadals, þá voru skoruð þar nær tuttugu hundruð manna, fóru svo til Upplanda og þá út um Þótn og Haðaland, þá á Hringaríki.
