The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):


Nikulás kúfungur sonur Páls Skoftasonar var lendur maður Magnúss konungs. Hann tók höndum Harald er sagt var að væri sonur Sigurðar konungs Haraldssonar og Kristínar konungsdóttur, bróðir Magnúss konungs sammæðri. Nikulás flutti Harald til Björgynjar og fékk í hendur Erlingi jarli.


Það var háttur Erlings ef óvinir hans komu fyrir hann að hann mælti ekki eða fátt við þá og stillilega það er var ef hann var ráðinn til að drepa þá en hina hrakti hann sem mest í orðum er hann vildi að lífið hefðu.


Erlingur mælti fátt við Harald og var mönnum grunur á hvað hann mundi fyrir ætla. Þá báðu menn Magnús konung að hann skyldi friða fyrir Haraldi við jarl. Konungur gerði svo.


Jarl svarar: "Slíkt ráða þér vinir þínir. En þú munt litla hríð ráða ríkinu í frelsi ef þú skalt heilhuga ráðum einum fram fara."


Síðan lét Erlingur Harald flytja yfir í Norðnes og var hann þar höggvinn.
