Erlingur skakki spurði að Danaher var kominn í Víkina. Þá bauð hann út almenningi um allt land að liði og skipum og varð það hið mesta herhlaup og hélt her þeim austur með landi. En er hann kom til Líðandisness spurði hann að Danaher var farinn suður aftur til Danmerkur og þeir höfðu víða rænt í Víkinni. Þá gaf Erlingur heimleyfi öllu leiðangursliði en hann sjálfur og nokkurir lendir menn sigldu með mjög mörg skip suður eftir Dönum til Jótlands.

En er þeir komu þar sem heitir Dýrsá þá lágu þar fyrir Danir, komnir úr leiðangri, og höfðu skip mörg. Erlingur lagði að þeim og barðist við þá. Danir flýðu brátt og létu mart manna en þeir Erlingur rændu skipin og svo kaupstaðinn og fengu þar allmikið fé og fóru síðan aftur til Noregs. Var þá um hríð ófriður milli Noregs og Danmerkur.
