Erlingur skakki lét búa í konungsgarði til veislu mikillar og var höll hin mikla tjölduð pellum og bakklæðum og búin með hinum mesta kostnaði. Var þá veitt hirðinni og öllum handgengnum mönnum. Þar var fjöldi boðsmanna og margir höfðingjar. Magnús tók þá konungsvígslu af Eysteini erkibiskupi og þar voru að vígslunni aðrir fimm biskupar og legátinn og fjöldi kennimanna. Erlingur skakki og með honum tólf lendir menn sóru lagaeiða með konungi.


Og þann dag er vígslan var, hafði konungur og Erlingur í boði sínu erkibiskup og legátann og alla biskupa og var sú veisla hin vegsamlegsta. Gáfu þeir feðgar þar margar stórgjafar. Þá var Magnús konungur átta vetra. Þrjá vetur hafði hann þá konungur verið.
