The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):


Erlingur skakki, þegar hann spurði að þeir Markús höfðu norður snúið, þá hélt hann norður í Víkina og dró að sér lið og varð brátt fjölmennur og hafði skip stór og mörg. En er hann sótti út í Víkina fékk hann andviðri og lá lengi hér og hvar í höfnum allt það sumar.


En er þeir Markús komu austur á Lista þá spurðu þeir að Erlingur hafði her óvígjan í Víkinni, ventu þá aftur norður. En er þeir komu á Hörðaland þá ætluðu þeir til Björgynjar. En er þeir koma fyrir býinn þá róa þeir Nikulás innan í móti þeim og höfðu lið miklu meira og skip stærri. Sáu þeir Markús þá engi annan sinn kost en róa suður undan. Stefna sumir til hafs út, sumir suður í sund, sumir í fjörðu inn en Markús og sumt lið með honum hljóp upp í ey þeirri er Skarpa heitir. Þeir Nikulás tóku skip þeirra, gáfu grið Jóni Hallkelssyni og nokkurum mönnum öðrum en drápu flest það er þeir náðu.


Nokkurum dögum síðar fann Eindriði heiðafylja þá Sigurð og Markús. Voru þeir fluttir til Björgynjar. Var Sigurður höggvinn út frá Grafdali en Markús hengdur við annan mann á Hvarfsnesi en það var Mikjálsmessu. Flokkur sá er þeim hafði fylgt dreifðist þá.
