Hallsteinn son Þórólfs Mostrarskeggs nam Þorskafjörð og bjó á
Hallsteinsnesi; hann blótaði þar til þess, að Þór sendi honum
öndvegissúlur. Eftir það kom tré á land hans, það er var
sextigi og þriggja álna og tveggja faðma digurt; það var haft
til öndvegissúlna, og eru þar af görvar öndvegissúlur nær á
hverjum bæ um þverfjörðuna. Þar heitir nú Grenitrésnes, er
tréið kom á land.

Hallsteinn hafði herjað á Skotland og tók þar þræla þá, er
hann hafði út; þá sendi hann til saltgörðar í Svefneyjar; þar
höfðu þeir Hallsteins þræla hag fram.

Hallsteinn átti Ósku dóttur Þorsteins (rauðs). Þeirra son var
Þorsteinn (surtur), er fann sumarauka. Þorsteinn surtur átti.
.. Þeirra son var Þórarinn, en dóttir Þórdís, er átti Þorkell
trefill, og Ósk, er átti Steinn mjögsiglandi; Þorsteinn hvíti
hét son þeirra. Sámur hét son Þorsteins surts óskilgetinn;
hann deildi um arf Þorsteins við Trefil, því að hann vildi
halda í hendur börnum Þórarins.

Þorbjörn loki hét maður, son Böðmóðs úr skut; hann fór til
Íslands og nam Djúpafjörð og Grónes til Gufufjarðar. Hans son
var Þorgils á Þorgilsstöðum í Djúpafirði, faðir Kolls, er
átti Þuríði Þórisdóttur, Hallaðarsonar jarls, Rögnvaldssonar
Mærajarls. Þorgils var son þeirra; hann átti Otkötlu, dóttur
Jörundar Atlasonar hins rauða; þeirra son var Jörundur; hann
átti Hallveigu dóttur Odda Yrarsonar og Ketils gufu. Snorri
var Jörundarson; hann átti Ásnýju, dóttur Víga-Sturlu. Þeirra
son var Gils, er átti Þórdísi Guðlaugsdóttur og dóttur
Þorkötlu Halldórsdóttur, Snorrasonar goða, en son Gils var
Þórður; hann átti Vigdísi Svertingsdóttur. Þeirra son var
Sturla í Hvammi.
