text and translation

The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Ok er mjǫk sóttisk hafit, þá tók Kveld-Úlfur sótt. Hann bað þess, at kistu skyldi gera at líki hans, ef hann dœi, og bað svá segja Grími syni sínum, at hann tœki skammt þaðan bústað á Íslandi, er kista hans kœmi á land, ef þess yrði auðit. Eptir það andaðisk Kveld-Úlfr, ok var skotit fyrir borð kistu hans.

Þeir Grímr héldu suðr um landit, því að þeir hǫfðu spurt, at Ingólfr byggði sunnan á landinu. Sigldu þeir vestr fyrir Reykjanes og stefndu þar inn á fjǫrðinn. Skilði þá með þeim, svá at hvárigir vissu til annarra. Sigldu þeir Grímr enn háleyski allt inn á fjǫrðinn, þar til er þraut sker ǫll, ok kǫstuðu þá akkerum sínum. En er flóð gerði, fluttusk þeir upp í árós einn ok leiddu þar upp skipit sem gekk; sú á heitir nú Gufá. Báru þeir þar á land fǫng sín.

En er þeir kǫnnuðu landit, þá hǫfðu þeir skammt gengit út frá skipinu, áðr þeir fundu kistu Kveld-Úlfs rekna í vík eina; þeir báru hana á þat nes, er þar var, ok hlóðu að grjóti.
