Gregoríus Dagsson fór austur litlu síðar en Eysteinn konungur og var uppi á Höfundi á Bratsbergi að búi sínu. Eysteinn konungur var inn í Ósló og lét draga skip sín meir en tvær vikur sjávar að ísi því að íslög voru mikil inn í Víkinni. Hann fór upp á Höfund og vildi taka Gregoríus en hann varð var við og fór undan upp á Þelamörk með níu tigu manna og þar norður um fjall og kom ofan í Harðangri og fór síðan í Eðni til Stuðlu.

Þar átti Erlingur skakki bú en hann var farinn norður til Björgynjar en Kristín kona hans, dóttir Sigurðar konungs, var heima og bauð Gregoríusi slíkt er hann vildi hafa þaðan. Fékk Gregoríus þar góðar viðtökur. Hann hafði langskip þaðan er Erlingur átti og allt það er hann þurfti. Gregoríus þakkaði henni vel og lét henni hafa orðið stórmannlega sem von var að. Þeir fóru síðan til Björgynjar og fundu Erling og þótti honum hún vel hafa gert.
