The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Sigurður konungur reið að veislum í Vík austur með hirð sína og reið um bý þann er ríkur maður átti er Símon hét. En er konungur reið gegnum býinn þá heyrði í hús nokkuð kveðandi svo fagra að honum fannst um mikið og reið til hússins og sá þar inn að þar stóð kona ein við kvern og kvað við forkunnarfagurt er hún mól. Konungur sté af hestinum og gekk inn til konunnar og lagðist með henni. En er hann fór í brott þá vissi Símon bóndi hvað erindi konungur hafði þannug. En hún hét Þóra og var verkakona Símonar bónda. Síðan lét Símon varðveita kost hennar.

En eftir það ól sú kona barn og var sá sveinn nefndur Hákon og kallaður sonur Sigurðar konungs. Fæddist Hákon þar upp með Símoni Þorbergssyni og Gunnhildi konu hans. Fæddust þar og upp synir þeirra Símonar, Önundur og Andrés, og unnust þeir Hákon mikið svo að þá skildi ekki nema hel.
