The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

"Það er mál Sigurðar konungs að mæla til Inga konungs bróður síns að guð þakki honum góða kveðju og svo starf og torveldi er þú hefir og þínir vinir í ríki þessu að beggja okkarra nauðsyn. En þótt sumt þyki heldur örðigt í orðum Inga konungs til Sigurðar konungs bróður síns þá hefir hann mikið til máls síns í marga staði. Nú vil eg lýsa yfir mínu skapi og heyra hvort þar fylgi vilji Sigurðar konungs eða annarra ríkismanna að þú, Sigurður konungur, búist og það lið er þér vill fylgja, að verja land þitt og far sem fjölmennastur á fund Inga konungs bróður þíns sem fyrst máttu og styrki hvor ykkar annan í öllum farsællegum hlutum en almáttigur guð báða ykkur. Nú viljum vér heyra orð þín konungur."

Pétur, sonur Sauða-Úlfs bar Sigurð konung á þingið er síðan var kallaður Pétur byrðarsveinn.

Þá mælti konungur: "Vita það allir menn, ef eg skal ráða, að eg vil fara á fund Inga konungs bróður míns sem fyrst má eg."

En þar talaði annar að öðrum og hóf sinnsig hver en lauk í sama stað sínu máli sem svarað hafði Óttar birtingur. Og var þá það ráðið að stefna liði saman og fara austur í land. Síðan fór Sigurður konungur austur í Vík og hitti þar Inga konung bróður sinn.
