Þórður er maður nefndur er var á skipi því er skammt lá frá
skipi konungs. Hann dreymdi um nótt að hann þóttist sjá flota
Haralds konungs fara að landi, þóttist vita að það var
England. Hann sá á landinu fylking mikla og þótti sem
hvorirtveggju byggjust til orustu og höfðu merki mörg á lofti
en fyrir liði landsmanna reið tröllkona mikil og sat á vargi
og hafði vargurinn mannshræ í munni og féll blóð um kjaftana.
En er hann hafði þann etið þá kastaði hún öðrum í munn honum
og síðan hverjum að öðrum en hann gleypti hvern.
Hún kvað:
Skóð lætr skína rauðan
skjöld er dregr að hjaldri.
Brúðr sér Aurnis jóða
óför konungs görva.
Sviptir sveiflannkjafta
svanni holdi manna.
Úlfs munn litar innan
óðlát kona blóði
og óðlát kona blóði.
