Menn Magnúss konungs, þeir er voru í ráðagerð með honum, tala
það að þeim þykir í óvænt efni komið er þeir Haraldur frændur
skulu berast banaspjót eftir. Bjóðast margir menn til þess að
fara og leita um sættir með þeim og af þeim fyrirtölum
samþykkist konungur því. Voru þá menn gervir á hleypiskútu og
fóru þeir sem skyndilegast suður til Danmerkur, fengu þar til
danska menn, þá er fullkomnir voru vinir Magnúss konungs, að
bera þetta erindi til Haralds. Þetta mál fór mjög af hljóði.

En er Haraldur heyrði þetta sagt, að Magnús konungur frændi
hans mundi bjóða honum sætt og félagsskap og Haraldur mundi
hafa skulu hálfan Noreg við Magnús konung en hvor þeirra við
annan hálft lausafé beggja þeirra, fóru þessi einkamál þá
aftur til Magnúss konungs.
