Aðalsteinn konungur lét skíra Hákon og kenna rétta trú og
góða siðu og alls konar kurteisi. Aðalsteinn konungur unni
honum svo mikið, meira en öllum frændum sínum, og út í frá
unni honum hver maður er hann kunni. Hann var síðan kallaður
Aðalsteinsfóstri. Hann var hinn mesti íþróttamaður, meiri og
sterkari og fríðari en hver maður annarra. Hann var vitur og
orðsnjallur og vel kristinn.



Aðalsteinn konungur gaf Hákoni sverð það er hjöltin voru úr
gulli og meðalkaflinn en brandurinn var þó betri. Þar hjó
Hákon með kvernstein til augans. Það var síðan kallað
Kvernbítur. Það sverð hefir best komið til Noregs. Það átti
Hákon til dauðadags.
