After spending two winters in Sweden, and (in ÓT) marrying Gyða in Denmark, Eiríkr sails east across the Baltic and, reaching the territory of King Valdamarr (Vladimir), raids extensively. He storms and sacks Aldeigja (Staraya Ladoga) and subsequently raids around Garðar (Russia).
