The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Nú hittast þeir feðgar allir saman og talast við. Þá mælti Hákon jarl: "Það þykjumst eg sjá," segir hann, "að mjög rekur á oss að hallast bardaginn, og var hvortveggja þegar, að eg hugða til þess verst að berjast við þessa menn, enda reynist mér svo, að mér þykja öngvir vera þessum mönnum líkir, að eigi sé þessir menn verri viðureignar, og það kann eg sjá, að oss mun eigi svo búið hlýða ef eigi er ráðs leitað. Og skuluð ér nú vera eftir með herinum, þvíað óvarlegt er að höfðingjarnir allir fari frá liðinu, ef þeir leggja að, Jómsvíkingar, og er þess aldregi örvænt. En eg mun ganga á land upp með nokkura menn og sjá þá enn hvað í gerist," segir Hákon jarl.
