The new edition is either unpublished or unavailable. The following is taken from an old edition (Skj where relevant):

Alrekur og Eiríkur hétu synir Agna er konungar voru eftir
hann. Þeir voru ríkir menn og hermenn miklir og íþróttamenn.
Það var siðvenja þeirra að ríða hesta, temja bæði við gang og
við hlaup. Kunnu þeir það allra manna best. Lögðu þeir á það
hið mesta kapp hvor betur reið eða betri hesta átti.

Það var eitt sinn að þeir bræður riðu tveir frá öðrum mönnum
með hina bestu hesta sína og riðu út á völlu nokkura og komu
eigi aftur. Var þeirra leita farið og fundust þeir báðir
dauðir og lamið höfuð á báðum en ekki vopn höfðu þeir nema
bitlana af hestunum og það hyggja menn að þeir hafi drepist
þar með.

Svo segir Þjóðólfur:

Féll Alrekr,

þar er Eiríki

bróður vopn

að bana urðu,

og hnakkmars

höfuðfetlum

Dags frændr

um drepast kváðu.

Fráat maðr áðr

eykja gervi

Freys afspring

í fólk hafa.
