Dyggvi hét sonur hans er þar næst réð löndum og er frá honum
ekki sagt annað en hann varð sóttdauður.

Svo segir Þjóðólfur:

Kveðkat eg dul,

nema Dyggva hrör

glitnis Gná

að gamni hefr,

því að jódís

úlfs og Narfa

konungmann

kjósa skyldi,

og allvald

Yngva þjóðar

Loka mær

um leikinn hefr.

Móðir Dyggva var Drótt, dóttir Danps konungs, sonar Rígs er
fyrstur var konungur kallaður á danska tungu. Hans áttmenn
höfðu ávallt síðan konungsnafn fyrir hið æðsta tignarnafn.
Dyggvi var fyrst konungur kallaður sinna ættmanna en áður
voru þeir drottnar kallaðir en konur þeirra drottningar en
drótt hirðsveitin. En Yngvi eða Ynguni var kallaður hver
þeirra ættmanna alla ævi en Ynglingar allir saman.

Drótt drottning var systir Dans konungs hins mikilláta er
Danmörk er við kennd.
