stól sinn tók þá brátt at Hólum;
þoldi jafnan þungar hǫldum
þó meingjǫrðir skírleiks blómi;
laganna hald ok máttug mildi
mest gafz honum at skuld af flestum;
alt þat fólk, er eigi viltiz,
elskaði hann sem guðs vin sannan.
