Hræðiz eigi heitan þjóða
herra bjartr, er svá var í hjarta
kraptauðigr, sem fyrr í fræði
fagrliga skýrðiz mjǫk til dýrðar,
framm leiðandi fyrst með blíðu
fyrr ritning ok laganna vitni,
áminnandi aptr at venda
af ranginda venju langri.
