Inn gakktu, seggr,         í sal hávan;
bið mér Angantý*         andspjöll bera!

Gakktu inn, seggr, í hávan sal; bið Angantý* bera mér andspjöll!

Go in, man, into the high hall; bid Angantýr bring me answers!

Mss: 2845(73v), R715ˣ(31r) (Heiðr); also used selectively: 203ˣ(110r) (Heiðr)

Readings: [3] Angantý*: ‘A’ 2845, Angantýrs R715ˣ

Editions: Skj AII, 250-1, Skj BII, 270-1, Skald II, 141; Heiðr 1672, 161, FSN 1, 492, Heiðr 1873, 267, Heiðr 1924, 86, 142, FSGJ 2, 54, Heiðr 1960, 47 (Heiðr); Edd. Min. 1-2, NK 303, ÍF Edd. II, 418, 421.

Notes: [All]: Ms. R715ˣ, which omits Heiðr 90a, appends another helmingr after this one, presumably to produce an eight-line stanza: andspjöll ljá | orða tveggja | tveggja eðr þriggja | ef hann til vil ‘to grant me answers of two words, of two or three, if he wishes to’. — [2]: Echoes l. 2 of the previous helmingr. — [4]: The half-line also occurs in Guðr I 12/6. Skj B and Skald prefer léa ‘grant’ to bera ‘bring’, from R715ˣ’s reading (via Heiðr 1672).
