This couplet, Anon (HSig) 5, is recorded in mss Kˣ, F, E, J2ˣ of Hkr, as well as in H and Hr (H-Hr). Kˣ is the main ms. The metre corresponds to inn skammi háttr ‘the short verse-form’ (SnSt Ht 72III; SnE 1999, 31) without internal rhyme in l. 2.

Context: One summer (c. 1061) Haraldr harðráði harries in Denmark with a small fleet when Sveinn Úlfsson comes upon him unawares. Haraldr escapes by pulling his ships across the land between Limfjorden and the North Sea in Jylland (Jutland).
