Þorgeirr flekkr

description

Þorgeirr flekkr ‘Spot’ (Þflekk) from the farm Sulstuen (Súla) in Verdalen, Norway, was a farmer whom King Óláfr Haraldsson (S. Óláfr) visited on 28 July 1030, the day before the battle of Stiklestad (ÍF 27, 352-3; ÓH 1941, I, 533-4). Þorgeirr told the king about the troops of farmers who had gathered against him, and he and his two sons joined Óláfr’s army.
