Óláfr was the son of Magnús berfœttr and Sigríðr Saxadóttir (see Genealogy II.3, ÍF 28). He ruled Norway jointly with his half-brothers, Sigurðr and Eysteinn, from 1103 until his death on 22 December 1115.
