According to Hkr (ÍF 28, 120), Steinn composed the poem Úlfsflokkr ‘Flokkr about Úlfr’ (Steinn Úlffl) about his kinsman, Úlfr stallari ‘the Marshal’ Óspaksson (Úlfr). The following st. is usually assigned to that poem (see Fidjestøl 1982, 147). In AM 761 b folˣ (761bˣ at 357r), Árni Magnússon assigns it to Steinn Nizv. The st. is preserved in mss Kˣ, F, E and J2ˣ of HSigHkr, in FskBˣ and FskBˣ (Fsk), in Mork (Mork), Flat (Flat) and in H, Hr (H-Hr) as well as in AM 570 a 4° (570a) of Hákonar saga Ívarssonar (HÍ).
