Lausavísa from Óláfs saga helga — Anon (ÓH)I

These four lines (Anon (ÓH)) present a straightforward example of the motif of fleets moving towards each other (see Note to Sigv Tryggfl 1 [All]). The chronology of the sagas would place the action c. 1026-7; see Context for the specific circumstances, at least as narrated by Snorri Sturluson. The helmingr is anonymous, being introduced only by Svá sem kveðit er ‘As has been said in verse’. It is preserved in Óláfs saga helga in the Hkr version (ÓHHkr, ms. Kˣ as main ms.) and the Separate version (ÓH, mss listed below).
