Gullásu-Þórðr
Kari Ellen Gade 2009, ‘ Gullásu-Þórðr, Víðkunnsdrápa’ in Kari Ellen Gade (ed.), Poetry from the Kings’ Sagas 2: From c. 1035 to c. 1300. Skaldic Poetry of the Scandinavian Middle Ages 2. Turnhout: Brepols, pp. 470-1. <https://skaldic.org/m.php?p=text&i=1219> (accessed 29 March 2024)
This half-st. is recorded only in
518ˣ (
GullÁsuÞ), where it is said to be the refrain (
stef) in a
drápa about Víðkunnr Jónsson (
GullásÞ Víðdr). The entire poem allegedly consisted of fifty sts, but no more sts have been preserved.
Skáldatal (
SnE 1848-87,
III, 269, 286) lists Þórðr as a poet who composed about Víðkunnr. According to the prose of the
þáttr (
ÍF 11, 341), Þórðr was the first to compose a poem in his praise.
