Nú biður Steingerður Kormák stunda til föður hennar og fá hennar og fyrir sakir Steingerðar gaf Kormákur Þorkeli góðar gjafir. Eftir þetta eiga margir menn hlut í og þar kom um síðir að Kormákur bað Steingerðar og var hún honum föstnuð og ákveðin brullaupsstefna og stendur nú kyrrt um hríð. Nú fara orð á milli þeirra og verða í nokkurar greinir um fjárfar og svo veik við breytilega að síðan þessum ráðum var ráðið fannst Kormáki fátt um. En það var fyrir þá sök að Þórveig seiddi til að þau skyldu eigi njótast mega.
