context

This episode occurs in Vatnsdœla saga, thought to have been written in the late-13th or early-14th century. The saga focuses on several generations of family in the Vatnsdalr district. This episode occurs shortly after Ingimundr employs the help of two practitioners of Sami-magic to find his missing amulet, thought to be in Iceland as prophesised by a Sami-woman.
