Hrafnkel’s saga takes place in the East fjords of Iceland, mainly in Fljótsdal and Hrafnkelsdal. The narrative focuses on the protagonist, an Icelandic chieftain named Hrafnkell, who kills his servant Einarr after discovering that he has ridden Freyfaxi without permission. The saga narrates Hrafnkell’s fall from power and eventual reclamation of authority, his dealings with the law and rejection of the god Freyr.
