Vatnsdœla saga is one of the íslendingasögur, written c. mid 13th century. It tells of the norwegian settler Ingimundr who travels to Iceland after he was told by a fortune teller to do so. He settles in the north and lives a long life there. The saga narrates the story of his family until the arrival of Christianity in 999/1000 AD.
