The narrative in Eyrbyggja saga is mainly set in Snæfellsnes, Iceland. It covers the timespan from settlement in the 9th century up to early Christian times in the 11th century. It describes the fights and feuds between different families in the area of Snæfellsnes and also present a strong shift from paganism to Christianity at the turn of the millennium. Eyrbyggja saga survives in several fragments and manuscripts from the 13th and 14th century.
