During the month of Goi (Feb. 15th ‑ March 15th) there were traditionally held sacrifices in Uppsala, Sweden. The religious festivals and sacrifices ceased to be held here when Sweden became Christian.

context
The saga of King Hákon tells the story of a Christian king brought up and fostered in England by King Aðalsteinn. He returns to Norway and attempts to bring Christianity to the north. The saga is part of the great work of Heimskringla, written in c. 1230's by the Icelander Snorri Sturlusson.
