A woman named Gunnhildr has travelled north to learn the magical arts from the Saami/Finnar in northern Norway. She has been staying with two men who are very gifted with magic and dangerous, and they do not want to let her leave as they both want to marry her. Eiríkrs men arrive at their dwelling and together with Gunnhildr they trick the Saami men and escape.

The saga of Haraldr Hárfagri tells the story of how one king conquers great parts of what is known as Norway, gaining great authority and changing the face of politics as a ruling power. The saga is part of the great work of Heimskringla, written in c. 1230's by the Icelander Snorri Sturlusson.
