Haraldr was bewitched by the beautiful Finn woman Snæfríðr and falls in love with her. They are married and Haraldr does not performs his duties as king, managing the country, while he is with her. When she dies, he watches and griefs over her body for years but then after a while the truth about her magical tricks become clear.

context

The saga of Haraldr Hárfagri tells the story of how one king conquers great parts of what is known as Norway, gaining great authority and changing the face of politics as a ruling power. The saga is part of the great work of Heimskringla, written in c. 1230's by the Icelander Snorri Sturlusson.
