context
This scene occurs relatively early in the saga, and takes place in Norway amongst Egill’s kinsmen. After Kveldúlfr’s son Þórólfr (Egill’s uncle), raids and plunders King Haraldr’s territory, the king sends his men to attack. Þórólfr's farmhouse is burnt down, and the king himself delivers Þórólfr his death-blow. The following scene describes Þórólfr's burial.
