Note to ESk Lv 15III

[All]: The islands of Gæla (l. 1), Taumar (l. 2), Bolga (l. 5), Hveðra (l. 7) and Glǫn (l. 8) have not been identified. LP: hveðra suggests that Hveðra could be a scribal corruption of ‘herðlu’, the island of Herdla (ON Herðla), south of Askøy in Hordaland, Norway (see Note to Lv 8/2 above), or of ‘hveðnar’, the island of Hven (ON Hveðn) in Denmark.
