[4] hrjóða ‘cleared’: The inf. depends on kvðu ‘they said’, hence lit. ‘they said to clear’. The variant rjóða (where it is not merely a Norwegianism for hrjóða, as probably in the Fsk mss) also makes good sense: ‘redden (with blood)’.
